went there for dinner with my boyfriend, we both instantly liked the welcoming athmosphere, it was pretty busy but didnt feel crowded or too loud at all. the food was pretty good, maybe a bit too salty but overall very nice and not overpriced, especially for the area :) im vegetarian and still felt very cared for which is rare at a traditional german schnitzel place, you can tell that they really care
I did quite a bit of research before our one day in Berlin — watching foodie YouTube videos and reading reviews — and Schnitzelei Mitte kept popping up as a top spot for schnitzel. I’m happy to say it absolutely lived up to the hype! Honestly, the only downside to eating here is that every schnitzel I have after this will probably be a letdown, haha. I ordered the "Vom Landschwein" (pork), one of their two most popular options according to our server. I couldn’t decide between the potato salad and the fried potatoes, so they kindly offered to do half and half — and it also came with a cucumber salad. Every bite was amazing. The potato salad was unlike anything I’ve had in Canada — I kept trying to figure out the flavours — and the fried potatoes were bursting with taste. I have no idea how they made them, but they were absolutely worth trying. The schnitzel itself was perfectly cooked and packed with flavour — no sauce needed at all. My mom had the Bayrisches Schnitzel (also pork, marinated). I couldn’t tell much difference from mine, but she loved it. My dad had the beef schnitzel and enjoyed his as well. We were welcomed with a small complimentary sample of local beer, which was such a nice touch — and it totally convinced us to order a pint. The staff were super friendly and attentive, and the restaurant itself was beautiful inside. Would absolutely recommend, and would 100% go back next time we’re in Berlin!
They have options not easily found elsewhere, like the Munich-style schnitzel. They had tapas of German food, which is great for me because I love trying many dishes without having to order an entire portion. Even better, they have dessert tapas! First time I've encountered something like this for desserts.
Absolutely wonderful dining experience! We had the chicken cordon bleu and the Bayriches Schnitzel. Both were excellent! Apple dumpling for dessert was delicious. Outside dining area was a perfect setting to enjoy great food, drinks, and friendly service!
If you’re a fan of hearty German cuisine and great beer, this place is an absolute gem! The schnitzel was simply outstanding – perfectly crispy on the outside, tender and juicy inside, and full of flavor. One of the most interesting surprises was their German tapas concept. It’s such a fun and unique idea to enjoy smaller portions of traditional German dishes, making it perfect for sharing and tasting a variety of flavors. Of course, no German feast is complete without beer – and theirs did not disappoint. The selection of German beers was excellent, with something to suit every taste. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the staff was friendly and knowledgeable, happy to recommend pairings and explain the dishes.
Best schnitzel I’ve ever had. The breading outside the veal was incredible, not very heavy, and tasty. The quality of the meat also very good. I went for the fried potatoes which were super good! The food came out piping hot which was nice. The drinks could have been a lot better but we came for the food. They have a beautiful relaxing terrace outside. If the weather would have been nice, I’d love to have sat out for hours drinking beers and eating meat.
